Casey McNally, M.A Student
CLINICAL INTERNCasey was drawn to the field of art therapy through a longstanding connection to creativity and self-expression. Art has always been a meaningful way for her to understand her own experiences, process emotions, and make sense of the world around her. Discovering art therapy offered a natural way to bring that creative foundation together with a desire to support and connect with others.
As a clinical intern, Casey is especially interested in the ways art can create new avenues for communication and self-understanding. She believes creative expression can offer clients a different way to explore emotions, experiences, and parts of themselves that may be difficult to put into words. Her approach is rooted in curiosity, openness, and the belief that therapy does not always have to rely on conversation alone in order to be meaningful.
Throughout her internship, Casey is focused on strengthening her therapeutic skills, gaining experience working with clients across a range of backgrounds and needs, and learning how to thoughtfully integrate creative interventions into treatment. She is especially interested in using art in ways that feel collaborative and accessible, allowing creativity to support the therapeutic process without pressure or expectation.
Ultimately, Casey hopes to become a therapist who helps clients feel seen, heard, and empowered in their own healing process. Her developing approach is grounded in compassion, creativity, and respect for each client’s individual way of expressing, understanding, and making meaning of their experiences.
