Alex Definis, M.S. Student

CLINICAL INTERN

Alex was drawn to the field of therapy through a genuine curiosity about people and a desire to better understand how life experiences shape the way individuals see themselves, relate to others, and move through the world. With a longstanding interest in mental health, Alex is especially passionate about creating a therapeutic environment where clients feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported.

As a clinical intern, Alex approaches the therapeutic relationship with openness, curiosity, and respect for each client’s unique story. Her goal is to create space for clients to explore their experiences at a pace that feels safe and meaningful, while also helping them build greater awareness of the patterns, relationships, and beliefs that may be influencing their lives.

As Alex continues to develop as a clinician, she is particularly interested in integrating trauma-informed care with somatic and mindfulness-based approaches. She believes that meaningful change can come from not only understanding thoughts and emotions, but also paying attention to the ways experiences are held in the body and reflected in everyday patterns of living.

Above all, Alex hopes to help clients deepen their understanding of themselves, recognize the strengths they already possess, and move toward changes that feel authentic and sustainable. Her approach is grounded in collaboration, compassion, and the belief that therapy can offer a space for both reflection and growth.
